Tribal people around the world are asking for missionaries to come to them! Yet there aren’t enough to go… We’re in the process of raising support to go to Papua New Guinea. Maybe the following article will help you understand why we feel such urgency to get there as soon as possible!
LETTER OF CONCERN
by David Bell
Of the more than 800 tribes in Papua New Guinea, many are still without a true knowledge of the Gospel, and missionaries continue to receive letters from tribal people who want to hear the message.
Missionary Peter Palmer has a file full of such letters, including one from "a concerned villager of the Amto tribe."
"I am very sorry that you have forgotten all about us," the letter read.
"We sleep with our big concern. The reason for this concern is that we are without hearing God’s talk. So please send us a missionary now. This is the reason we don’t know God’s Word.
"We are concerned for ourselves that we don’t want to be lost. We are lost, and the reason is we don’t know the teaching of the God talk, nor do we know any other talk about this Jesus (we are ignorant) but we want to know.
"So how long, how many years do we have to write? And how long do we have to tell with our mouth (that we want help)?
"Sorry our hands and mouths are tired. So if you are of Christ you should send us a missionary fast."
Please pray for laborers who can meet the many requests of the tribes who are pleading for missionaries.
How it makes our hearts sad to hear that there are people ASKING for missionaries and there aren’t enough to go to them. Please pray with us that God will provide our support in 2008. IT IS URGENT!!
