Think about someone you know who has a new baby. How do they treat that new baby? Do they expect the baby to make supper for the family? Is the baby given chores to do to earn his keep around the house? Do they ask the baby to give a message to a brother or sister? No, no, no! Of course not! The baby’s ‘job’ is to eat and grow. The parents feed the baby and take care of it. And that’s just what our job is right now – feeding the baby believers here in Amdu.
Weeks have passed since our team finished the initial phase of chronological Bible teaching. After taking a break out in town after the long months of a very intense schedule, we have been back in Amdu feeding our new brothers and sisters in Christ. As you might imagine or remember, life with babies can be messy and tiring. But there are also sweet moments of joy! It is encouraging to sit with them during the Bible lessons, spend time in our yard, in their houses or in the office talking about what they are learning from God’s Word and challenging them in the application of what they’ve heard, and just in general to see them growing in their new-found faith.
Please pray for our family and our team as we spend time teaching and discipling these new believers as well as continue to work on Bible translation. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
