Sophie just had a whole post all to herself, so we want to be equal! Our little Olivia is quite the little girl. She amazes us daily on how grown up she is and how smart she is. We can tell her something once, and two weeks later, she will bring it up! Not only is she speaking in sentences, but she can have a conversation! Some of you have already heard this story, but this is our proud moment:
Olivia likes to watch “Jonah” on Veggietales. We have mixed opinions on Veggietales, but non-the-less, they teach stories in the Bible. Well, when Olivia watches her movies, I try to chime in my words to help her reflect on the videos…I guess that is the teacher in me! We talk about Jonah and how he didn’t listen to God and what happens to him because he chose not to listen.
So the other night, Olivia was not listening very well and had to go to timeout (yes, she does have to go to timeout occasionally!) We try not to send her to timeout and then let her up. We make her sit there and then we talk about it, and then she can get up and apologize if necessary! Call us cruel! Well our proud moment:
We asked Olivia if she knew why she was in timeout. Olivia, “Because I didn’t listen. Jonah didn’t listen to God” Us-WHAT?!?! She can actually connect her behavior as similar to Jonah. Call us crazy, but we really think that she knew that there were consequences for not listening and that it didn’t make God happy either. So, it was a very teachable moment and we have to say that we were very proud of our Little Olivia!
Daddy/Daughter date:
BJ and Olivia got to go on there 1st date last week! Chick-fil-a is a Christain/family fast food place that we all love, but they go above and beyond their call of duty to really make family a priority (personal opinion!) We talked up the date a few days before to get her excited about it! The afternoon arrived and I got to dress her and do her hair all pretty to look so cute for her daddy! It was the sweetest thing! I got to take a few pictures (yes, I was one of those moms snapping pictures and waving goodbye until they were all the way down the road!) It was a great time for them to go off on their own and hang out! I’m sure it will be the first of many dadd/daughter dates!
