…from blogging! Sorry everyone! Last week we were enjoying the 4th of July festivities, and Olivia got to see her first firework show! We have been in OKC meeting with some of you and telling you in depth about our future plans. If you are reading this and would like to meet with us to hear all about our plans for going to Papua New Guinea (did you know it is the size of California but with over 800 languages?!), just let us know! just Facebook us or comment on this post or email or call or text or Facetime or skype… did I leave anything out?
We are in OKC till the end of the week, then we are heading back to Bella Vista. Jill’s parents have graciously hosted us, and they will love seeing their picture here.
One of our teachers at the training center, George Walker, gave us his recommended book list. On it was a book by Leland Ryken, and I have been learning a ton about how to be an active reader of the Word instead of a passive one… to picture myself as a “traveling companion” of the main character. If you try this, it will transform your time of reading the Bible, I promise. It reminds me of Bible school when our teacher, Dave, was so into the story that he was literally “not even here, I am not in 2011, I just crossed the Jordan River with Joshua…” haha, I love it. Sorry for the random thoughts…
