Well, remember my list of the whole month’s supply for food? It got here…most of it. The brownies, chocolate chips, and applesauce didn’t make it, but I think we’ll live. Actually, we didn’t get all of our diapers either and pull ups, so we are trying to see how that is going to work!
I don’t know if I mentioned earlier in my post, that when you order, you have to be specific. If you want a can of beans, you could end up with an industrial sized can of pinto beans, when you wanted a small can of black beans! So here are the funniest mix-ups that I got…I ordered 4 bottles of apple juice (or you can substitute mango), and we got 4 bottles of sparkling mango juice. I was confused, as I thought we had accidentally gotten wine! So now our kids will be drinking sparkling juice all month! They call it bubbly, and it makes them burp a lot! The funniest blunder to me is the Canadian ham. I ordered 3 ounces of Canadian ham (small packet, right?!) Our tribal supply buyer doesn’t know ounces, so I think it confused him (KGs?!) I got 3 HUGE tubes of Canadian ham (cost $45!) So we will be eating ham for every meal all month, haha!
It’s easy to focus on the mess-ups for our order, but we are so grateful that we have supply buyers who are serving the Lord by serving us. We could not make it without them. We don’t have time to garden here, and we don’t have the time/money to fly and order our supplies every time. We really cannot make it without them. So we are very thankful for them and for all the food that we received this month…and of course for all of our financial supporters, so we can buy food!
