Day 16 of 21: Me teacher yah

July 31, 2014 by BJ and Jill Sanders

Guess who taught the women Wusuraambyan believers this morning?!  I (Jill) DID!!  Of course in the national language, but most of them understand it!  They all worked at translating my talk for the older women and for themselves (they understand best in their language).

After praying for a few days, I really felt like God wanted to challenge them with the talk I had heard, that challenged me to come to PNG!  I walked them through all of the verses (listed below) that tell us to Go and make disciples, and then our favorite one where Heaven shows some from every language!  They loved it!  I wanted to show them that the Gospel had come all the way to them, and that it shouldn’t stop with them!  I made them think about “what if the gospel hadn’t come to Wusuraambya?”  It was really cool to hear their responses!  We talked about how they could tell others the gospel in their clans, other clans, other villages, or other language groups!

At the end they made the application that they could start by going to another village in 2 weeks.  Yesterday, a tree fell down on a woman holding a baby in that village.  So the women wanted to walk to this village, tell them sorry for the loss, and see if they are interested in hearing God’s talk.  I just wish that I could be there to go with them!

Please be praying for the women in this tribe.  They are not allowed to talk about spiritual stuff to the men, but they could really make an impact on the other women and their kids!

Verses:

Wow! A tribe in the jungle of PNG understand how to be outwardly focused. What an amazing example to everyone here and there!
