I know the title is talk pidgin, but I’m sure you figured it out…”plenty something!” This is basically what we’ve been up to! We have been finalizing our house plans, which has been so much fun! This morning, BJ started learning how to make cabinets. Friday, I finally get to step foot on Wanatikia soil! All of us women get to go with the men to sign a land agreement and commit to go. This is a huge step that we’ve been praying for, dreaming of, and preparing for 5 years now.
Us women will just spend one night and then the guys will stay a week cutting down trees. All of this is really new to us…we aren’t lumberjacks or house builders. It will be a time of being physically exhausted and mentally exhausting. Our guys will be out in Wantakia a lot over the next couple of months cutting trees and milling it into lumber. Us women will be at home with the kids during this time missing our husbands and daddies.
Please be praying for all of us. It will be a hard time, but it will be so worth it! Our team cannot wait to move into Wantakia and start learning their language so that we can start teaching them God’s talk!
Our schedule at a glance (subject to change!):
Friday- sign land agreement, cut trees
Couple weeks in December- mill wood
Couple weeks in January- mill wood
February- start building the Hambrices house
-Hambrices work team comes
-BJ’s parents come!!
-Start building Crabtrees house
Marchish- start building our house
-Northwest work team comes!
-move in sometime and start learning language!
As you can see…plenti sumting! I know several of you when we were support raising talked about wanting to come help work on our house. Write us an email if you really are interested. We have one team coming with a possible 2nd team. We could try and work something out! We want everyone to take ownership in this!! Also, we are going to be raising funds for our house building. It will cost approximately $30,000. If you feel led to give, you can simply click on the “give” button at the top. I’m going to be working on a fundraising project this week! But PLEASE be praying for all of this! It’s a HUGE time in our lives and we cant do it without your prayers!
