In one week, we are about to get on a plane to go to destination #1 of 3 (in a month!) We are moving all of our “stuff” to G oroka and getting settled for a week.
#2, After the week, we will be flying into a tribe called Wusuraambya (click here to check out where we’ll be for a month.) We will be doing the last part of our training and getting acclimated to the bush. We will wrap up our pidgin language learning, and be involved in a church in the bush. The missionaries are taking us in and will let us do life with them! We are super excited. The missionaries are working hard to finish up the translation of the Bible, so it will be great to be able to experience that. It will be the first time we are actually living in the “bush”! Most of you know, we’ve been living in town right now, where we can go to a grocery store, or go to a resort for our anniversary. Won’t be the case here! I had to plan meals and order food for ONE WHOLE MONTH! If we run out, we will be eating sweet potatoes! J I am not sure how internet will be while we are there, but I will journal and write blogs later! You wont want to miss those! Oh, and did I mention, this location is right next to the tribe we are pursuing?! Very excited about this!!
And #3: When we finish bush orientation, we will fly back to G oroka to settle in our new home until we allocate to our very own tribe. This location is where all of the support missionaries are in Papua New Guinea. There is a school, a doctor’s clinic, and every type of support you can think of! We are excited to get to know the people who will be reaching the tribe with the Gospel from the national center. We will also spend this time surveying a tribe that we are pursuing…and then making all the plans to allocate into the tribe.
Just wanted to update you on our upcoming moves. You would think that moving gets easy when you’re a missionary, but it doesn’t really. We will have to say goodbye to a lot of great people here. We will say goodbye to the ocean. Our kids will say goodbye to their friends and their room. It’s not easy! But we follow a God who sustains us and gives us strength to walk with Him.

Dear precious Jill, how delightfully exciting you make everything seem. In my heart I know all the changes you are experiencing wreck havoc with you and your family. Only our marvelous God could give you such a positive perspective! I love reading every word you post and passing it along to our faith family at Northway so we can lift your name and needs to our Father. May God bless you with His power to endure the hardships and fill you with His Spirit to impact people along the way with His truth, love, and hope. You are loved, dear one. Our prayers are with you.
