Orientation is Over, Training Begins

August 26, 2007 by Brian and Bailey Pruett

We are so excited to be a part of such a wonderful team! We knew coming here that we were joining a group of missionaries who were committed to seeing the last tribe reached with the Gospel. It was, in fact, the major reason we joined NTMA. However, after being here and rubbing shoulders with the leaders of the organization we feel more than ever like we have found a group of normal people who are doing all they can to enable missionaries to go to the ends of the earth.

We even saw our trailer in the training module called “History of NTMA.” Yup, even our trailer has had a part in the task! It is over 50 years old and has gone with NTMA everywhere the Lord has led them. Originally it was in Nebraska, then to Douglas, AZ and now here in McNeal, AZ. It even has the hitch still on it, which reminds us of our need to be ready and eager to move whenever the Lord calls us to move…just like our trailer. Actually, that was the best thing we could come up with to cope with the fact that our new home has a hitch jetting out into the front yard.

We really count it a priveledge to be part of a team who knows how to have fun, and who is also very professional in their efforts. We are learning more and more every day that we have to wear two hats overseas. On the one hand we have to be safe and professional. On the other we need to be encouraging, and uplifting for the missionaries. We feel that this is a balance that NTMA has found and we hope to be able to continue it.
