After Tukid returned to his home in the mountains after a very traumatic kidney stone passing, he has been a key player in encouraging the Manubo church. The missionaries to the Manubo recently wrote to us:
“You guys have no idea the impact of Tukid’s trip to hospital and your 4×4 being available on that exact day!!. Tuk has been really ho-hum about the Lord for quite a while…..he is SO different now. He has met with his brother-in-law to pray every night since and when Tabiyus is teaching then Tuk pulls his wife and 2 oldest kids in to pray. SO every night since you brought him home there has been a prayertime at his house!!!. There have been a few things happen in the last several weeks but Tuk’s was the clincher…Now the church is planning a “Thanks-Giving ” meal, something they haven’t done for years!!!. They have started to encourage one another and this has been lacking for ages!!
How thankful we are that what we often see as hindrances to our ministries, the Lord uses for so much greater purposes…His!
Thanks to those of you are praying and supporting our ministry through finances and encouragement. It has been extremely taxing on us both physically and financially to drive supplies and people instead of flying. It is taking days to accomplish what I would normally have accomplished by 9am. God is working through it all and while we make our plans to be efficient, sometimes God likes to take the long way around. Pray that we will have strength to continue down this tiring road until we get the plane back in the air. Also pray that God would continue to get the glory among the Manubo and other tribes as we conduct our ministry from a much lower altitude.

Hey guys,
We’ve been trying to keep up with all that’s going on with your ministry and are very encouraged by the lengths to which you’ve went to serve the people. When you have time send us a prayer list so we can know how to pray for you more effectively. I’m just starting on the 1400 ft. strip here at NTMA, its been a challenge but I’m enjoying it. If you remember please pray for me to have patience and to persevere when I have off days. Its good to know that we serve a God knows everything, which gives me comfort that I’m here for a reason training.
Blessings,
Josh Simmons
P.S. This portion of scripture has encouraged me lately.
Col. 1:9-12 “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”
