One year ago, we boarded a plane with two kids,15 check bags, 4 carry-on’s, one stroller and hearts jumping out of our chests. We spoke no Spanish (other than being able to understand a small handful of phrases and words), had no idea what to expect and were ready to be the best language learners out there! Reality hit us pretty hard along with culture, but God’s faithfulness has always been our constant.
We have had some intense highs and lows, but it is so fun to see how far God has brought us in this past year. A couple of hospital visits, morning sickness, amoebas, fun trips exploring more of this country, a new baby and hours upon hours of language study, just to name a few! After Liviana was born, we gained a new sense of urgency in learning this language and have been pushing hard ever since. Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us and faithfully supporting us this past year(+). We would not be where we are without you!
So here’s to the next year. Lord, for how crazy this year was, I can’t even imagine what the next one holds, but we rest in the fact that you know and will carry us through!
