Partnership with new friends

February 11, 2012 by Bryan and Shara Moritz

Children at the Church

Corbyn makes friends very quickly. Here he is picking out straw from the church floor and making jewelry. A PNG boy caught on and joined him. Now he has everyones attention and lots of friends. We wait in expectation to see how Corbyn will be used!
In PNG, men when talking to each other, hold hands or as in this picture they lock arms. Bryan is getting the full experience. As we were walking home this same man, Paul, was holding Bryan's hand for a good 10 minutes as he was talking to Bryan about all the trees and plants on the path! Even I had to take a double take!

Friends and family back home this will be our community to teach us about the language and culture.  We seek your prayers as we begin visiting them and learning from them.  We desire to be good listeners, learners, and observers!  Pray that our times in the village would be relationship building as well as language learning.  These relationships could be forever and we desire to start out well.  Even though we don’t know much of the language now our lives already are being watched, and our witness is already starting.  Let’s pray together for God to use this learning time to build lasting results!

Please pray for the boys as well in this area.  We desire for the boys to learn the language and culture with us.  The hard part is figuring out how to get them involved as they have school when we have school.  We need wisdom in balancing their time with us in village exposure, and school time on the center.  It is actually common for missionary kids to not learn the language here, but we want to change that for our boys.  It will take extra work on our part but we are excited to see how the Lord will open doors to make it work!
