At this stage of ministry and life we are finished with what would be called field orientation. That means that we are finished with learning the national language and culture and at the stage of beginning to move to our tribal ministry location. We want to praise God and thank you. It has been almost a year since we first arrived in PNG and its only through God’s mercy and grace that we have been able to understand a way of communicating.
We wanted everyone to know what is currently in the works. As of now we are just back from NTM’s center for the islands region. We are looking into the possibility of opening up a new work in the islands of PNG. We are feeling a strong leading to continue to pursue one particular island.
The immediate future is that of waiting. The team that we were originally considering doing a work with is looking at going to a different region, so this means that if the island is going to work out we would need to be able to form another team.
If you could be praying for the continual opening of this work so that we may be able to move forward…or that the Lord would make it very clear what team to be apart of and what location to be used in!
Step 1 – location
We are at the point of choosing a team and a location to move to and begin building. This is the vaguest stage as it could be done tomorrow or 6 months from now. Pray for us!
Step 2 – materials
Once a team is put together and a location is marked we will gather the material to build our house. Items can be found in PNG but at a higher price than in America. We are told that average cost to build a missionary home is 20,000 – 30,000 US dollars
Step 3 – construction
Building our house could be done in as little as 3 weeks from ground up. Our house will consist of some American style framing mixed with materials from the bush to help reduce cost.

We have some exciting news. Five and a Half years of training is soon to culminate with our allocation into the jungle to begin the first phases of Church Planting with a remote People Group in Papua New Guinea. Introducing: Projekt Stesin! The gathering of supplies to and plans to begin building our ministry center and home in a jungle location!
TEAM CONFIRMED!
We have exciting news, our team is together and confirmed. We have assembled a Church Planting and Translation Team of 3.5 units. We want to take a minute and introduce the team to you as they are very much a part of what you are involved with now and will be in the future. First, is our very good friend Candace Swift! We’ve known her for over 5 years (which started at the NTM training), and her heart for the Lord and Discipleship for others is something we recognized early on as an incredible asset to our team.
Second, John Micael George, and Jessi George Family. We Met this family at the Missionary Training Center in Missouri and intially realized the extreme differences in our backgrounds and questioned even how we would relate to each other. Yet the God of unity worked in our lives bringing our wives together as friends and soon followed to grow us men in realtionship too. They have three great daughters, Lucy, Mattie, and Mia. Yep, Pax is going to be surrounded by girls!
Laslty, Chris and Evie Jones. This couple is the newest addition to our team and we are stoked to have them. We were in training at MTC with them but didn’t really get to know them until we started our Partnership Development and kept bungim (meeting) them around the country in different states. They are also connected with our Home Church, as our lead pastor was Chris’s youth pastor in California.
These Families have served to be such a cool and constant part of our lives through training and now here on the ground in this ministry.
