September 2014
When our foster son came back into care with us, we were glad to be able to take care of him again, but also wondering how this would affect our goal of arriving in Senegal in January of 2015. We’ve realized that things being wrapped up with his case by January is extremely unlikely. At first it was discouraging as it felt like our plans were being delayed, but God has been working on our hearts and is helping us to view this time as an opportunity instead.
Since we’re still here in Missouri for now, Cameron is taking the opportunity to take the advanced linguistics training. This training teaches him how to write down an unwritten language, make an alphabet, and many other useful skills when working in another language.
With the two kids attending public school this semester, Katy is freed up to help 3 mornings a week in the training center’s childcare. This allows parents to be focused in classes, and Katy thoroughly enjoys being with the kids!
We still plan to arrive in Senegal sometime next year, we’re just not sure exactly when in 2015. Please continue to pray for our foster son’s case, for us to make good use of our time here, and for us to trust our Father with the timing of our future plans.
In Christ,
Cameron & Katy
