We’re in Oklahoma! Maggie and I had our first two hour session with our language helper, Lorene, today. We talked and had the pleasure of getting to know her a little bit and even learned a few Cherokee phrases. Tomorrow we’ll dive right into learning the words for common objects and things. We’re living in one room in a dorm at a camp. The one room is quite large and we have sectioned off parts for Maisie’s bedroom, ours and the boys beds, and a play area. There are about 25 of us (students) here and we get to enjoy some communal living. We will be here for seven weeks learning about Cherokee and practicing our linguistic skills. Pray that it is a profitable time for us and that we enjoy being here, (and for the weather to cool!).
God bless!
