We’re out of the tribe and taking a few days of rest and relaxation. The last week was pretty crazy, and life will get pretty crazy again soon enough, but this week is down time for us.
Last Thursday we had two builders and two consultants come to the tribe. In four days the consultants evaluated our progress in the language, our knowledge of Pal culture, discussed phonemics and a Pal alphabet with us, and encouraged us in what we were doing. The two builders accomplished putting the posts up, the beams on, the floor joists and blocking set, and our front and back porch complete with steps. Between Thursday and Friday the helicopter brought 10 loads of timber, plywood, and our personal stuff into Pal. On Monday everyone left the tribe and went separate directions.
This month we’ll be purchasing the rest of the materials needed for our house and preparing all our things to go into the tribe via helicopter. At the end of this month we have our regional conference and then a Team Translation Workshop. Right after that I’ll be heading back to Pal with a work team to build the rest of our house.
Your prayers have carried us to where we are today, and they will carry us on into the future. Thank you!
