Below is an update from our field about the helicopter program. This has a huge impact on our ministry as the only way in and out of the Pal tribe is by helicopter, (or a two day mountain trek.)
Thank you for your prayers and support for the aviation program in Papua New Guinea! Because of the remote locations of many of our missionaries, and because we hope to send more and more missionaries into remote locations, the field of PNG is in need of additional helicopters. In addition to our increased demand, our current helicopter is over 40 years old and often down for needed maintenance. Because our current aging helicopter is larger than the new Robinsons, we are in need of three new helicopters to replace it and expand our aviation program. We’re happy to report that the funds have been raised and the order has been placed for our first R66 helicopter to arrive at Ethnos360 Aviation’s Arizona training center in September! Please continue to pray for two additional helicopters and for the Lord to raise up the pilots and mechanics needed to serve an expanding field.
