As the idiom goes here, “Their stomachs are not small.” Translation – They have a large appetite. Now, that does certainly include greasy pork, delicately smoked rat, and the white mans’ noodles and rice. However, it also includes their hunger for Scripture. From the early days and our first printed Scripture portions, the local body of believers jumped at every opportunity to get their hands on God’s Word and fill their stomachs. It was a chance to practice their newfound reading skills, and more importantly, a chance to carefully digest the words of life given by the almighty creator God. Fast forward a few years to today, and it seems as though the believers’ hunger as not waned a bit. On top of that, the number of mouths to feed and stomachs to fill is increasing. The number of people hearing God’s Word and placing their faith in His Son is growing. Praise the Lord!
We are still far from completing the New Testament (1/3 of the way), and we may never complete the Old Testament, but we already have a number of Scripture books available for the Pal believers. Vio Na – The Beginning – includes large portions of the book of Genesis. Yalu Isigi – The Old Book – includes large portions of Exodus along with small portions of many other OT books (Leviticus, Numbers, Judges, 1 & 2 Samuel, Psalms, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, etc.). In the New Testament we have complete books of Mark, Acts, Ephesians, and 1 Corinthians. We also have most of the book of Romans, and a book with portions of Matthew, Luke, and John. In the not too distant future we hope to be printing 1 &2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, and Revelation.
We provide these Scripture books for the Pal believers at a significantly discounted price. A small book, like Ephesians, costs us about 6 kina ($2) to print, per book. A larger book, like Acts, costs 14 kina to print (~$5). However, all the books, whether thick or thin, we sell for only 2 kina (~65c). I tell you all this because, as more and more people are purchasing these Scripture books, and as we translate and print more and more books, our teams’ costs are steadily climbing. And so, we’d like to invite you to join the Printing Pal Scripture financial team! If this is something that interests you, see the details below.
