Joshua May 25, 2015

May 25, 2015 by Chuck and Shannon Talbot

During the first week of May, I, Shannon, was able to visit Joshua in Baguio. It was great to see him and his mom. Joshua was very shy to the “white lady” but he seemed happy and looked so much better. I even got this smile from him. They were staying at Helping Hands Healing Hearts where they were being taken care of. The infection in his lungs had cleared up but he still had infection in his leg. He was very slow walking and needed support from his mom to get around.

On May 11th the doctor let them go home to the village. The doctor would have preferred for them to have stayed longer in Baguio but understood that they had been away from home a long time. They were getting very bored just sitting around.

Joshua is now settled in at home. He is looking good. His leg is still swollen as the type of infection is one that lasts a long time. He can get around but is very slow. He still needs help sometimes. He continues to take antibiotics. And he could be on them for another 3 months. He has a check up scheduled in Baguio on June 11th with his doctor there.

There is still a chance that the doctor might need to do surgery on his leg.

Please keep praying for Joshua.

Pray for continued healing for him.

Pray for strength for his body.

Pray that he won’t need surgery.

Pray for the relationship we are building with him and his family. We look forward to being able to share the salvation message with them, In their language.

Thank you to everyone for praying and giving towards Joshua’s medical care.
