Settling In

February 11, 2015 by Coleton and Shawna Williams

We have now been here in Kuman for about two months, and so far things are going great! We spent the first month just getting moved in and the house fixed and at the end of January we officially started into full time language learning.

After two years of Bible school, two years of missionary training, one year of support raising and a year and a half in country, we are finally where we want to be. Its crazy to think of all of this time planning and training to plant a church and now we are at our final destination. It’s scary really. Every move we make counts. Everything we say and do effects this church plant and how people will respond to the gospel. To add to that, there have been missionaries here for the past fifteen years with a precedent already set as we move forward. Out of the 150,000 Kuman speakers, there are only about 100 believers now; so there is plenty of work to be done!

Please pray for us as language and culture learning is hard, pray for our relationship with our coworkers and pray for the hearts of the Kuman to be open and ready for the Gospel someday!

Check out this video that talks a little more about what we do on a day-to-day basis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWuZfPacf9w

You have amazing weather and amazing views! My parents were in the Kuman when I was a child in the 80s and they stayed there even after I was in the States and married with children. We love our memories there. I’m so glad the work is being carried on!

So excited for your family! What a great adventure God has brought you too. We will be praying for God to bless your ministry with the Kuman people in every way. Also praying that God would sustain you with good health to carry out His task. God bless your sweet family!!!
