Happy Thanksgiving

November 19, 2021 by Darcy

Dear PRAYing friends and family,

What a beautiful fall we’ve enjoyed this year in Sheridan! We got our first snow, about a foot – early in October, but it’s warmed up since then and we’ve been able to do our mulching, fertilizing, pruning and preparing for winter. The end of October we enjoyed a visit to our dear friends on the other side of the Bighorns in Worland, Wyoming.

Jaruma Alatala final read-through:

The Embaloh Bible final read-through is finished! Praise the Lord for His help and wisdom and unity given to the team doing that very important step. Gaing, one of the team members, said, “Honestly this is outside of my ability and is extremely difficult to do, but we must always remember that we are working for our Friend (the Lord). He is going to help and give the ability we need. We are thankful for the input from our translation team. This check that we are doing is very important. Even just a small change can make the meaning incorrect. We are so thankful for the checks and rechecks.”

Embaloh reading program:

The Embaloh church children have enjoyed the book reading program so much that they asked if they could get some new books this year. Rina and I worked on some new booklets and they were very happy to see her arrive home a few weeks ago with new books for them to read! Balaam’s Donkey, Naaman’s Disease, Samson’s Death, Rahab Believes, and Birds of the World were among the titles of the new books.

Family news:

Greg is in Bozeman now with his girls, Hannah and Grace. They are focusing on needed repairs on their little house for the girls to use. Greg is also getting some medical issues taken care of. He is going to return to Asia-Pacific in December and Nate is planning to go with him for a monthlong visit. Pam and Katie and Caleb are holding down the fort at home while he is gone. Doug and Nancy were here last month for a short visit and are now getting settled in their new condo. Thanks for praying for jobs for James and Tracy in Sacramento. Even without work, it’s been neat to see the Lord’s provision for their family. Currently, they are waiting on results from recent interviews.

Praise and Prayer requests:

  • Please pray for Pam, Katie and Caleb with Greg away.
  • Please continue to pray for jobs for Tracy and James.
  • Praise the Lord for His faithful supply of our every need.
  • Praise that Oke has finished drafting another chapter of Judges in Semandang!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17

We are so thankful for God’s perfect gift of abundant life in Jesus Christ! We’re also thankful for our family and so many people around the world like you who are a part of our lives!
