Dear PRAYing family and friends,
Greetings in the precious GRACE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! 2023 is off to a good start. The 26 boxes of Embaloh Bibles (495 kilograms total) arrived on Borneo Island February 3rd and were picked up last week for the last leg of the journey. They arrived in the village early this week! The Lord provided so abundantly for the final printing payment and shipping by boat to Kalimantan and into the interior of the island. Thank you for your part through prayer and giving towards that need! (See pictures below)
My (Darcy’s) foundational lessons with a 6th grader from Asia-Pacific who lives here in Sheridan with her family have started up again. I thank you for praying for her salvation. She is growing more and more in her understanding even though we are still in the early part of the curriculum.
Oke and I have reevaluated where we are at in our drafting of the Semandang Old Testament. She continues to draft narrative portions and I am getting back into exegesis and rough drafting portions of Psalms and Proverbs and some OT prophetical passages that go along with the foundational curriculum lessons. I am also continuing to update our “back translation” files for other translators to use. Thank you for praying for Oke and I as we work together from different parts of the globe. Also, Oke and Grace (her niece that she is raising) have had a lot of sickness the past couple of months, so we would appreciate your prayer for strength and healing.
Three translation projects in Asia-Pacific are nearing completion and we’d like to ask you to bathe those working on them in prayer this month. The Hovongan, Sekadau and Moi translations are very close to the finish line. Please pray for the teams working on these translations as Satan does all he can to delay the progress being made.
On a personal note, our beloved uncle was called home to heaven this month. While we sorrow at the terrible results of a sin-sick world, we are thankful to know that he is home safe with his precious Savior and Lord. Please pray for my aunt (Dad’s sister) and the whole family as they walk through these difficult days ahead.
My brother Greg is still pretty well healed up from his motorcycle accident last month. My brother Doug is off on another teaching trip this week, teaching the books of Peter in three different tribal church locations. We appreciate so much your prayers for our family scattered around the world and the tribal churches of believers that we are connected to. Our hearts are still very much in Asia-Pacific and we are so thankful for your faithful prayers upholding the work going on there.
Praise & Prayer:
- Pray that the Embaloh church would love and read their Bible daily.
- Pray that Oke and I would make good progress on drafting the Semandang Old Testament.
- Pray for my aunt and her family as they grieve the loss of my uncle.
- Pray that the 6th grader studying through the foundational lessons will continue to have good understanding and belief in the truth of God’s Word.
- Pray for good health for Oke and Grace.
Thank you so much for your partnership through prayer! May we all grow more faithful in our service and rejoice as we watch God at work,
Darcy for the three of us Sheridan Berglunds
