July 2025

July 16, 2025 by Darcy

Dear PRAYing family and friends,

We’ve been back “home” in Sheridan for several weeks now. We had the great joy of having most of our family together for several days in Bozeman last month. My brother, Greg, and some of his family have been down to Sheridan a few times since we got home so we enjoyed some extra fellowship with them. It’s been a wonderful time of reconnecting and hanging out together. Our hearts are full with all of the love poured out on us by each one of our family in their own special ways.

We enjoyed our study through the book of Esther and playing games. There were many encouraging blessings from the time spent together. One special blessing was having Dad’s sister, my aunt Marlene and daughter, my cousin Terry who were able to fly out from Ohio and spend the entire time there with us. Dad’s youngest sibling, uncle Don and aunt Becky live in Bozeman, so the three of them enjoyed spending time together. And we enjoyed being with them all as well. Another blessing was meeting my newest niece for the first time since she married our Collin two years ago. We love her already and thank God for making her part of our family. My oldest niece had two children graduating from high school during the time that we were together so they were not able to make it. We really missed them but are so proud of their accomplishment and are praying for their future plans.

As I mentioned above, Greg has made a few trips to Sheridan to visit and to help out with some projects around our home. What a blessing he has been to us and we’ve loved having the special one on one time with him, Pam, Caleb and Katie when they’ve been able to come down.

Since getting back into the swing of things here at home, I’ve spent time in “discipleship” phone calls with my team in Asia-Pacific. It is always good to hear from them and my heart is encouraged each time to hear how the Lord is working in and through them as they serve him cross-culturally in their own country.

I have started formatting our Semandang book of Daniel for printing and working on making lessons for it at the same time. I’ve struggled with page formatting issues and am still trying to figure out the best software to use for printing our Daniel book.

The Elsengg people group in Papua are continuing to study the Chronological teaching program 6 days a week. They are now over halfway through the lessons having taught through key Old Testament passages to lay the foundation for presenting the Gospel. Last week they taught the Christmas story, the arrival of our Savior. Please pray that the Elsengg people will have clear understanding of the truth of the Gospel and put their faith in Jesus, the One God promised to send as our Deliverer.

Greg and Pam are getting ready to fly back to Asia-Pacific July 17 and their son Caleb will follow a few weeks later. Pray for grace for the hard goodbyes, safe travel and good flights and an easy adjustment back into their ministry there.

Oke says her niece Grace had a very profitable time home in the village with her this summer and is now back at school. She worked hard helping her aunt with several garden projects and around the house. She spent evenings completing the typing course which she did with great speed and accuracy.

PRAISE AND PRAYER:

  • Praise God for special family times this summer
  • Praise God for the way He is working in the hearts of the Elsengg people group
  • Praise God for a good summer for Oke and Grace
  • Pray for wisdom making lessons and formatting Daniel to print
  • Pray for God’s church to be born among the Elsengg people group this year
  • Pray for wisdom as Oke drafts portions of Deuteronomy

Thank you for partnering with us! We pray that you’ll have a great summer this year as well!
