SEPTEMBER 2025

Dear PRAYing family and friends,

Thank you for praying for us this past month! The Lord has been so faithful in our lives. The Semandang book of Daniel is now formatted and being checked for formatting errors by two ladies here in Sheridan. Praise the Lord for their willingness to go over it. I have been able to draft four Daniel lessons and start the fifth. Oke has been working on correcting those.

Anas, Basilia and I are excited to resume checking Joshua this month! We need much prayer in order to check it for accuracy, naturalness and good comprehension. Also we have not yet been able to find good terminology for “bay” and “ravine” as we continue describing the territory boundaries of the 12 tribes of Israel. The terms that we’ve been using are either borrowed words or not clearly understood by Semandang speakers.

Just as we were beginning to have issues with our car, our faithful Father has answered our prayer about the need for replacing it with a newer one. One of our friends from a supporting church unexpectedly offered to sell us her car which is the make and model we were looking for. God has been working out each step along the way. Our plan is to meet up with the owner on September 29^th. We would appreciate your prayers that all would go well and that this car would be used of the Lord in His service. We are so thankful for the people God used to make this possible.

PRAISE AND PRAYER:

• Praise God that the formatting of Daniel is finished.
• Pray for the ladies who are checking it.
• Pray for Oke and I as we continue to work on Daniel lessons.
• Pray for checking Joshua and finding the best terminology for words and phrases that are “foreign” concepts to Semandang speakers.
• Praise the Lord for His provision of a newer car.
• Pray for safety as we drive up to get it.

While I was reading and studying in 2 Corinthians this month the Lord impressed upon my heart the wonderful results of prayer. When we pray many will praise God in thankfulness and give Him great honor and glory. In chapter 1, verse 11, Paul writes, “as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.” Then in chapter 9, verses 11-13, though the context here is about giving rather than prayer, Paul says that their gifts will result in much thankfulness and glory to God. It makes my heart rejoice to think that our ministry of prayer and giving to God’s servants not only produces much fruit but it also produces thankfulness and glory to God for His marvelous work!

In addition my memory verses from this week are also very fitting with these thoughts. Part of my verses say: “…Apart from Me you can do nothing! … This glorifies the Father!” John 15:4-8

We know that your prayers for us are vital and will result in much thankfulness and glory to God among the Semandang people! Thank you for giving that time to the Lord in prayer,
