Dear PRAYing family and friends,

We cannot stop praising the Lord for the car that He provided. In one sense it is exactly what we were praying for, i.e. a make and model that mom could get in and out of easily, AWD, etc. In another sense it is so much more than we ever could’ve imagined or found on our own. The Lord provided exactly what we needed and took care of all the arrangements from start to finish. We are so thankful!

Thank you also for praying as Anastasia, Basilia and I have gotten back into comprehension checking of Oke’s draft of Joshua. We have gotten some feedback on the terms that we are looking for and at least have something to try with other checkers. Your prayers are vital for us to have wisdom in being accurate, clear and natural in the Semandang translation of God’s Word. We are working through chapters 17 and 18 this week.

The Semandang book of Daniel is ready to be sent to the printer after I put some final revisions into it. Thank you for praying for that important project as well.

CONSULTANT CHECK COMING UP!!!

We are praising the Lord! We had our last consultant check in Kalimantan in September of 2023 and now we are making plans for the next one! It’s hard to believe that we already have enough verses to be able to schedule another final check with our consultant. Lord willing in September of 2026 we will be able to check 1,361 verses of the Semandang Old Testament. These verses will include but not be limited to the book of Joshua.

I’d like to ask you to pray for my brothers this month. Both of them are traveling and attending meetings. Greg is in the States for a ministry conference while Pam continues ministry in Salatiga. Doug and Nancy are in Malaysia and Thailand for meetings. Please pray for safe travels, good opportunities for building up believers and advancing the gospel among least-reached people groups.

PRAISE AND PRAYER:

• Praise God for His provision for our car.
• Praise God that we will be able to print Daniel next month.
• Pray for Oke as she continues to rough draft portions of Deuteronomy.
• Pray for wisdom in continuing to check Joshua.
• Pray for profitable trips for my two brothers.

While my brother Greg is in the States for meetings, he was able to take a couple of days to help us trim some bushes and fix a leaking shower hose among other things. But his short time with us was not all work. We were also able to do some more relaxing things such as putting together a jigsaw puzzle and taking dad on his daily walks. It was nice to have those two days with him.

It’s beginning to get cold now in Sheridan and the leaves are all falling off the trees. We have started turning on the heat in our house. Genesis 8:22 says, “As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” In the Semandang tribe right now our friends are planting their rice fields. The mountain rice has already sprouted and they are beginning to plant their lowland rice. As we experience the changing seasons of life around us, may we always be mindful of God’s Goodness and His faithfulness to us.
