JOLIN UNDERSTANDS GOD’S GIFT

May 6, 2008

by Jackie Fallis

Last week in Papua New Guinea, Jolin, a Wusuraambyan woman, told missionary Terry Banman and Darryl and Becky Jordan about her new understanding of what God did for her.

"When the teachers taught on the law, I saw how bad of a person I was for the first time and saw that I was a very bad person before God and full of bad ways. Before that, I thought I was a good person," Jolin said. "In the Old Testament, the blood from the sheep only covered the peoples’ sins but Jesus’ blood took away my sins."

She thought about what she’d heard during her 25-minute-walk home, but didn’t stop upon reaching home. "I got home and got food ready for the family and we ate and then the kids went to sleep but I didn’t sleep. I stayed awake and thought more and more about it all."

After hearing Jolin talk, Terry encouraged her to attend the last few lessons for clearer understanding, and prayed with her.

Terry wrote, "Isn’t it amazing that here in a remote tribe of [Papua New Guinea] a lady thought she was a good person before the creator God.… If she [hadn’t] been taught these lessons she might have gone through the rest of her life deceived and then gone to Hell."

"There have been others also sharing about what Jesus did for them," Terry wrote. "It’s an exciting time!"

Please pray the Wusuraambyans will continue attending evangelistic Bible lessons so they have a clear understanding of Him.

(Jolin was Becky’s housekeeper for 4 years before she had children and is Becky’s best friend in the village. Please see the article Present Day Miracles in the Remote Jungle of Wusuraambya by Becky Jordan for more related information.)
