Good Friday

April 3, 2013 by Darryl and Becky Jordan

Good Friday is observed by many here. We at our local Baptist church had an afternoon service as did most other churches here. Thousands marched to the stations of the cross. They were placed through the city. They were also placed on the road from Honda Bay to the shrine called Mt. Calvary. There were several thousand who went to Mt. Calvary. The did the stations of the cross, rubbed the statues, lit candles and collected “holy” water.

We our part we are grateful to God that He sent His Son to purchase our redemption with His precious blood. Please pray for us, the missionaries here and the faithful Filipino pastors who proclaim this message to this needy land.

Collecting Holy Water
People bring their empty pop bottles and collect "holy" water from the well at Mt Calvary.
