Meeting NTM Aviation pilots and missionaries on another early morning.

It was Monday, April 25, 2016 at 3:45 am; still dark and not quite dawn yet when the bright yellow moon shown through our bedroom window and the roosters began to We “jumped” out of bed and threw on some quick apparel so we could meet Brian, the NTM pilot, outside. The beginning of a new day!

A whirlwind of activities that would be continued into the next few months not known to us yet! Brian had come to load packages (mail from the States and Manila, medicines, fresh veggies and fruit, eggs, gas tanks, etc.) that we had been compiling since the Jennings and Ostmans had returned to their bush location in February.

The packing room had been a busy bee hive the few days before with plenty of us “bees” doing our chores of wrapping, packing, taping, and weighing supply orders for the two missionary couples in their remote tribal location! Many days of preparation for this big moment! ‘Do we have everything?’ goes through our thoughts often during this process.

Brian would be 13 hours away via his truck so there was no way to get something to him after he left. There were times when I had forgotten very important items and only discovered the oversight after the truck driver has left. Those were great disappointments to people who are isolated and heartaches that beckoned me to write sad apology notes later.

Well, that was the beginning of our week and the end of another supply order. After closing the books for April and starting a new accounting month for May, I went into the office to check emails…relieved and thinking we should have a few low-key days before the next rush.

By 7:00 AM it was time to check Emails! And guess what happened? Plans changed!
