Morning Walk around the Neighborhood

January 20, 2018 by Darryl and Becky Jordan

Two boys wondering if we would stop for a visit.

We, often, take a 3 mile morning walk around the neighborhood when we are in the city. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends and build relationships. Yesterday, we met a new family that were really excited with our visit. We left the NTM Guest House at 7am and returned at Noon in the squelching hot sun. Our clothes were drenching wet. One lady stopped Darryl to tell him, “You are perspiring!” Becky thought about the snow storms and ice-covered river in East Haddam, Connecticut where her sister lives. She asked, “Is this really January? Is this really Winter?”

Wondering if the door had a purpose? Possibly, they lay it over the doorway when the family sleeps at night.

Inside the house, a man was listening to his radio.

Down the road, Becky stops to buy a Cucumber from a Street Side Stand. A Girl weighs it and charges her P20 or 40 cents.
Two Enamored Boys look in awe at Becky, the “Americano”, as she makes her purchases.
Across the street, a man was clearing the Over Brush with a bush knife.
The man in a tractor was helping him.
Always looking for a house to rent! Darryl likes this one!
An inviting 400 meter new sidewalk with an amazing tree for much needed shade!

By the time we returned “home”, we were both seriously dehydrated and worn out! Please pray that we can be a blessing to our neighbors. We did not need the veggies but we made someone happy! And the boys enjoyed our little gifts to them!
