The Language of the Philippines: Basketball

Highlights of Sports Bible Camp 2018

So much to be thankful about!  About 70 teenagers registered and enjoyed Sports Bible Camp!  We praise the Lord for safety among the players, good weather even with the scorching heat, and endurance for full-scheduled days!

The Agutaynen believers did a great job teaching the Bible Lessons clearly.  Participation was enthusiastic!  The coaches and referees, faithfully, performed their responsibilities. On Championship Day, Gerry, an Agutaynen believer, shared the Gospel before the final games.

Following Sports Bible Camp, Stephen and Ginger started the weekly kick-off of the Youth Meetings and the  Kids Bible Club.  Both were well attended!

Wen-Jean presented the lesson each day. The theme was “Jesus”. The lessons and memory verses focused on God showing His love to them by sending Jesus to die on the cross for their sins and Jesus being the Way and Mediator to God.

Stephen and Ginger were hoping the Sports Bible Camp would generate interest in the teens coming to the weekly Youth Meeting and the children coming to the weekly Kids Bible Club.  Saturday night, there were 43 teenagers at Youth Meeting and there were 48 children on Sunday for Kids Bible Club.  Please pray they will continue in the coming weeks.

Stephen welcomed all! Minute to Win it Game, a devotional , and S’mores for refreshments!

Thank you so very much for your involvement in the Agutaynen ministry!  We are blessed beyond measure  by your partnership, friendship, and prayerful support!  And we appreciate that we can serve in a limited role alongside Stephen, Ginger, Abi, Luke, and Jonathan! We, dearly, miss Rebekah while she is at college but she is in our hearts and prayers!  Please pray for her that she will be diligent in her studies and adjust to life challenges in a different environment. Please pray that we will progress in the language so we will be more effective in communication.
