Check the checklist

The Computer Department began the week scrambling to figure out who would do computer set-ups, now that Paul, who used to do that, is with the Lord.

As a temporary measure, several from the Department are covering Paul’s job.  As one has time, he does what he can and then goes back to his regular job.  Then someone else comes along, and begins where the first person left off.  And so it goes until the computer is ready to go out the door.

Can you tell how important a checklist would be in this situation? 

The first thing Dave realized is that the set-up checklist was out of date.  Paul had capably been omitting what needed to be omitted, and shuffling the order around to fit current procedures. But with different ones working on the checklist, it has to be in order, with everything accounted for.  This week, Dave has spent a lot of time rewriting the checklist. 

• Praise the Lord for those who are covering Paul’s job. Pray that the checklist system will work well as different ones take part.
• Pray for guidance to the Computer Department regarding who might be able to fill Paul’s position on a more permanent basis.
