Unfolding the story revealing Jesus’ birth, countless tribesmen exclaimed excitedly their prediction that Jesus would be the Savior of the world. –What led them to believe Jesus was the promised Redeemer? How could they be assured this was true?
Foundational stories of the Bible lay bedrock evidence to convince men that God’s story is true. So when the news of Jesus’ birth was announced to these tribesmen they had no doubt in believing He was the Savior. Everything in the Old Testament teaching pointed to the fact of the New Testament –that He (God Eternal) was made flesh (God Incarnate)… “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21
These precious people laid hold of something most people of Jesus time never understood. Israel had the revealed truth of God’s Word but chose not to believe it. –Doesn’t make sense, does it?
As we stand upon the threshold of celebrating the birth Jesus there are millions of people who never heard God’s story and the way of salvation. They have no Bible, no church, no radio, no tv, no computer, no internet access, no scripture, no believers… nothing to give witness!
It doesn’t seem fair. …And it’s not! That’s why God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. –To be His ambassadors to the lost.
New Tribes Mission is making great impact through our efforts of declaring Christ to the nations. This year alone resulted in numerous people groups hearing the gospel for the first time, with others to hear the story by years’ end. Churches are being established, Bible translations completed, yet millions more are waiting for someone to bring them the gospel.
The greatest gift you will give this season isn’t worthy to be compared to the life changing message of salvation in Christ. Remember, Jesus came to pay a debt He didn’t owe, because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay. Having received grace, we now are debtors to those who know not the Christ. Let’s give the gift that keeps on giving… salvation in Jesus. It’s out of this world!
