The Lord continues opening doors of opportunity for us to mentor young people with a heart for missions and we’re glad He is! In recent weeks we’ve made contact with several new individuals and a few couples desiring to serve the Lord cross-culturally. They come to us with lots of questions –questions about God’s will… about obedience and faith, and what it’s like to answer the call to be disciple makers to the nations.
Serving the Lord among unreached people living in hard-to-reach places brings many challenges. There’s the sound of unfamiliar languages, strange customs & practices, and the spiritual darkness that holds such ones in bondage to fear. How do you embrace planting churches in such locations when there are so many obstacles in the way? Answering these questions and many more is just a small part of the puzzle for these would-be missionary candidates who come to us for direction.
Long before we address any of these questions we spend time getting acquainted with each individual’s spiritual wellbeing. –Have they embraced the gospel; are they in a growing relationship with Christ; do they evidence the fruit of the Spirit; are they committed to God’s will for their life, and many such other questions. Spiritual preparedness is a key issue, as well as areas related to their personal and family life; inter-personal relationships and more. We need your prayers as we guide such ones through God’s Word in the exploration of finding just where God wants them to be.
