Announcing:
Esther Louise Ogg
- She was born: June 6, 1989
- She wieghed: 7 lbs.
- She was 19” long
She is a great joy added to our lives. It has been so exciting as she matures day by day. There is always something new she is doing.
Maturity
What if Esther stopped maturing right now? It would be a serious problem if she kept blowing bubbles and drooling. And kept on nursing and cooing instead of leaving those childish things behind and growing up into a young lady. Hebrews 5:11-14 is a warning to believers who were not maturing. God tells us that a babe is unskillful in the Word, but that maturity comes through the application of the Word of God to our lives. I wonder when Esther will take her first step?! As we all grow I wonder what will be the next step in maturity? I pray that we will take it.
Jungle Camp
What a great experience! It only took a week to get used to the wood-burning stove that we built! We washed clothes and diapers by hand in tubs. We hauled water and heated it on our stove for dishes and showers. Our bed was made with poles and foam and our walls were plastic. Shari decorated with some curtains and wall-hangings and it soon became home! Jungle living can be a lot of work at times but the Lord has promised to be with us through it all. Matt. 28:19-20
Florida?
Yes, Florida. That’s where I spent 2 weeks of our jungle camp time. A team of men went to help with the construction in Sanford. The New Tribes Mission Homes had to relocate because of a highway that was to go through the old property in Oviedo. The property is a real testimony of God’s goodness and provision. There are still some urgent needs for laborers willing to give some of their time to help. If you would like to help, contact the mission’s home office at: Ethnos360, 312 W First St, Sanford, FL 32771-1231
Mom and Dad Ogg
came and visited us in Canada. We had a great time but the time went too fast. We went to Niagra falls together and also took a ferry ride across Georgian Bay. Of course, we also gave them the grand tour of the campus here. They even got to see the main structure of our jungle camp house including the mud stove. It is being left up until next year for use as the women’s dorm.
Mom and Dad Dolash
will be coming home from Colombia a little sooner than we expected. Their furlough was scheduled for December but they will be in Wisconsin on Sept. 30, 1989. There is nothing more the Colombian doctors can do for Judy. She has been ill with fevers and fatigue for a year! Please pray for Judy’s condition and for other needs such as a car and a place to stay when they are home.
Prayer Requests
- NTM Canada Missionary Conference is Sept. 28-Oct. 1. Pray that more folks are challenged to join the work.
- For love and wisdom in raising Esther.
- For sensitivity to the needs of others around us.
With Love,
David, Shari and Esther Ogg
