Christmas 1996

December 10, 1996 by David and Shari Ogg

Merry Christmas

Isn’t it wonderful to know that the Simbaris are finally hearing the message of salvation. Two thousand years ago Jesus came to earth and took upon himself the punishment for our sin. This is truly GOOD NEWS. But, it is only good news for those who have an opportunity to hear the message. And so we truly appreciate your prayer and support as we minister this message of good news to the Simbari people.

We are encouraged with our progress in language study. It looks like our third language test will be scheduled for February. We’re really working hard to pass this check before going home on home assignment. We are looking into tickets for the first week of May. We hope to pass test three now, then when we return from home assignment we will just have to finish our last test. After which we will be able to work full-time in teaching and translation of God’s Word.

We will be in the bush for Christmas, in fact six months will have passed before we leave the bush again, and that will be for our yearly regional meetings in March. Stuart Briscoe from Brookfield, Wisconsin will be the guest speaker and we are looking forward to it.

Time is passing quickly and it won’t be long before we see you again. It is a reminder to “redeem the time.” If you wait too long to “redeem” a coupon it will expire. It’s the same with God’s work, if we wait too long the opportunity may expire.

God Bless You and Merry Christmas.
