During these last few months since returning to California we continue making the most of our time with family, friends and churches and have had many opportunities to share about our ministry with the Simbari. We are including a link to a video of a Simbari man’s testimony that we have been showing. In the video Raymond talks about how God made a way for him to be able to hear the Gospel and how he is now helping with the translation work. Watch the video here:
Last week we went on an early getaway for our 32nd anniversary. David’s parents gifted us a week at a place up in Lake Tahoe where we got to enjoy some time away together in the cold and snow. Our actual anniversary is the 21st of December but since our adult kids will be here at that time we did the trip early. Jason, Rachel and Albion are traveling out by car and should be here in a few days. Esther and Tim will come a few days later by plane, and Simon and Chandler already live nearby. So we are looking forward to some special family times together this Christmas.
We are scheduled to return to Papua New Guinea in late January in order to do the final consultant check on the last 7 books of the Simbari New Testament. The check will take place in early February. Please pray for wisdom as David works on pre-check questions and comments about the translation that the consultant sent him. After the final check we will spend some time out in the tribe with the Simbari church and while out there we will work through some final revisions to the translation. David will also go over some more Bible lessons that are being developed for the adults and Shari will go over some children’s Bible lessons that she has been working on.
Thanks for your prayers. Merry Christmas from the Oggs!
