Searcy Update Jan 1, 2016

January 1, 2016 by David and Teresa Searcy

Unbelievable! First day of a new year. Where did the last one go? I wanted to send you a few pictures of the Christmas Fellowship in one of the Punan villages that David and Rachel were able to go to. Believers from about 3 villages gathered. David spoke several times. There were about 300 in attendance in a space of 312 square feet. The pictures will show you how that was possible. Then I thought you would enjoy seeing how you do dishes for that many people. I’d show you how they do food prep but I was afraid it might be disgusting to most westerners!

I think I’ll leave it at this for now and let David tell his side of the story. Thank you for praying for him. He never did come down with the awful flu/cold that I’ve had. I’m just now beginning to feel better but still some lingering cough. I also messed up my back so have been dealing with some pain issues. Yu Jung, an NTM Korean missionary, has been with me since Christmas day so it was nice to have some company while David was gone. She flies back out to the coast tomorrow. Justin and Autumn Bartron and their two little boys will be driving up tomorrow. It will take them about 14-16 hours so please be praying for their safety on the road. They will get in here late in the evening.

We have a very FULL month ahead so do appreciate your prayers as we continue in ministry while still getting ready to leave.
