Searcy Update Feb 10

February 9, 2016 by David and Teresa Searcy

Thank you for your prayers! We sure need them with so much going on. We are still with DJ in Java until tomorrow morning early when he takes us to the airport for our flight to the US. DJ has helped us with our presentation video, prayer card, and family picture. It’s neat to have us all on one picture as we are so seldom all together. Last time was 2002 at DJ and Jennifer’s wedding.

Being together with Rachel and DJ’s family this week has been great but it’s going to begin to break up this afternoon and I’m sure the tears will flow. Rachel heads back to her place with an overnight on the coast before an early flight interior. Then the following day she’s to be met with a boat coming down to pick her up to take her to the village. So we would appreciate your prayers for safety, stamina, and encouragement for her as she will feel very much alone for awhile. She was able to finish up her Back to English of Luke for an upcoming translation check in April with her consultant. That has been a heavy thing on her mind and a relief to have it done.

We grieve our leaving the field but know it’s the right time. My (Teresa) Dad has just had surgery and my Mom can use the help at home. My youngest sister too has had surgery for cancer and they trust they got it all but won’t know until all the lab work is done. So there is lots on our minds.
