What Spiritual Gift is God giving me for my growth today, that I can share with others? (Rom 1:11)
This morning as I spent time with the Lord and in His word, and talked with him about my current situation, the gift I received from the Lord was the encouragement that He can and will give wisdom and understanding for what we need to do, when I seek Him and His wisdom!
Prov 2:2-5, 10 “Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures…. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.”
What a gift! To know that He will enable me to know “the right way to go.” That as I seek Him, He will grant me His wisdom, and the knowledge He gives, will fill me with joy. Thank you Father for this gift!
What encouraged me in my faith? (Rom 1:12)
In 1 Sam 22:2 God called David to be the leader of those 400 men when he was at one of the lowest places in his life.
Read 1 Sam 18-21 to see all David was going through at this point in his life. David was out of people he could run to that he had fled to hide out in a cave, It was at this point, when God sent those who were “in trouble, in debt, those who were discontent,” and called David to care and lead them. David became the captain of about 400 men!
David did not go out and search for these people. He was hurting, running for his life, fearful for even his parents, and that’s when God chose to use him to lead others who were hurting.
It was in the midst of this difficulty that David wrote Psalm 34, 142 and Psalm 52. While it encourages me to see David’s faith in the midst of hardship, and to see where he found his strength (reading those Psalms), it’s also what God is challenging me regarding the fruit He wants to work in me.
What spiritual fruit does God want to work in me? What can I share with others that God can use to produce fruit among them also? (Rom 1:13)
In My Utmost for His Highest for today, Oswald Chambers wrote these words, “If Jesus ever gave us a command He could not enable us to fulfil, He would be a liar; and if we make our inability a barrier to obedience, it means we are telling God there is something He has not taken into account. Complete weakness and dependence will always be the occasion for the Spirit of God to manifest His power.”
Prov 2:12 “Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.” It’s this wisdom, this knowledge alone that will save us from the twisted, deceptive, lies of the enemy.
Prov 2:2-5 Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.
God, I am crying out for your wisdom today. I am searching for it like you would for silver or hidden treasure.
Prov 2:7-10 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.
Thank you for the assurance that you will grant me this treasure. the treasure I search for…
You are my shield. You guard my path. You protect me.
As I rest in you, you will give me the understanding of what is right, just and fair. You will help me find the right way to go.
Your wisdom will fill my heart and what I know is true will fill me with joy.
Help me to encourage others with what you are showing me.
