Category for the day:
(1) What gift or promise did God remind me of in His Word that I can thank Him for?
- Ps 9:1-2 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
- Ps 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD who reigns in Jerusalem. Tell the world about his unforgettable deeds.
Thoughts:
What are some of the unforgettable things you have seen God do in your life? David says, “I will be filled with joy because of you and I will sing praises to your name, because of the marvelous things you have done.” As I reflect on some of the things that can only be explained by the presence of God, it does make me want to just praise Him and thank him for his work. So often it’s behind the scenes, just working out all the details so things are in place when we have a need. Like this month, when I needed to pay the credit card bill with the airplane tickets on it. An extra donation came in that more than covered it. I could have purchased those last month… but I waited… and God had already worked it out for that donation to come in when I needed it!
Prayer
Thank you Father for the incredible things that you do. Many are not obvious to the world. But as I reflect on my life, so many things have no other explanation than you. And still, I so quickly doubt and worry. O Father, increase my faith! Help me to reflect often and remember the unforgettable deeds that you have done! May that give me greater hope next time I face difficulty. (Rom 5:3-5)
