How can we tell personally that the life resurrected life of Jesus abides in us?

  • 1 John 4:7 love is from God. Whoever loves has been BORN OF GOD and KNOWS GOD
  • 1 John 4:12 If we love one another GOD ABIDES IN US 
  • 1 John 4:15 whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, GOD ABIDES IN HIM
  • 1 John 4:16 God is love, and WHOEVER ABIDES IN LOVE… GOD ABIDES IN HIM

How does our life show / reflect that God abides in us to those who witness our life?

  • 1 John 4:7 love one another, for love is from God. Whoever loves has been BORN OF GOD and KNOWS GOD
  • 1 John 4:9 This is love.. God sent his son into the world, so that we might LIVE THROUGH HIM
  • 1 John 4:12 If we love one another GOD ABIDES IN US and his love is perfected
  • 1 John 4:13 by this we know WE ABIDE IN HIM AND HE IN US because he has given us his Spirit
  • 1 John 4:15 whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, GOD ABIDES IN HIM
  • 1 John 4:16 God is love, and WHOEVER ABIDES IN LOVE ABIDES IN GOD

Ian Thomas has said many times in his writings and his sermons that being born from above and becoming the recipients of the resurrection Life of Christ enables us to share His Life right now, on earth, on our way to heaven. It’s not just salvation from sin now, and Jesus righteousness when we get to heaven some day.  No, we have the life of Jesus in us today, enabling us to live as God intended.

God sent his son so that we might LIVE THROUGH HIM! When we abide in His love, then His love will abide us and begin to control us. (2 Cor 5:14)
