Judgment House a Halloween alternative event.
You enter in the doors and begin with registration after which you are placed in a group. You wait there until you have a group of 10. While you wait you can buy from the concession stand or watch the video playing on the big screen. You are then shown to another building by your spooky Judgment House guides. You enter and are greeted by the first of several Grim reapers. He says, “Welcome to the House of death.” He quotes Heb 9:27 “It is appointed for man once to die then comes the judgment.” You are challenged to think about consequences – good consequences and bad consequences. As you pass through you are faced with different scenes of death – a torture scene, a car accident scene, a hospital death scene and a suicide scene. Heb 9:27 is the theme throughout. You are then confronted with 2 Judgement scenes: The first is Hell, the second is Heaven. After this you are guided into a Funeral Parlor scene. Here you are given a clear gospel presentation and then asked to pay your respects to the dead by looking in the casket. As you look in the casket you see yourself in a mirror. Finally you are led into the next room where you are given an opportunity to say the sinners prayer and then continue on for counseling or exit the building.
Everyone who passed through the doors was vividly challenged about their eternal destiny. Everyone was given a book of John when they left the building. Everyone who came in for counseling was listened to, counseled about salvation, given an eternal life tract and prayed over.
Dean was the Funeral Parlor director and I, Tuti was a counselor. A special thank you to the child care workers who offered their services free for the 3 nights of Judgment House. It would not have been possible for both Dean and I to participate every night without this service.
What an amazing experience! All thanks and praise to God for what He did over the Halloween weekend. It was a joy to be able to give people the message of hope in the midst of so much evil and darkness. The church reports that well over 1000 people went through Judgment House and 50 people made salvation decisions. There were also those who rededicated their lives to the Lord and/or asked for prayer and guidance. Glory to God!
