Double Digits

September 7, 2013 by Derrick and LaShawn Dobbs

We celebrated Allie’s 10th birthday this week.  It is quite the milestone for us as our oldest is now in the double digits!  Of course, it seems like only yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital!  We celebrated by going to the pool in town for a swim.  It was a nice day and a good time to be together as a family.

Then on Friday, Allie had a sleepover with some of her friends. It was a fun time for all the girls as they played games, soaked their feet for pedicures, painted nails, and dyed their hair blue, purple, and red. (I’m told the color will only last a week!! )

There were a few hiccups for the party as the power went off right before it and we couldn’t get the generator started. Then the town water went off which our tank water pump just got fixed and was still drying. So nothing never ever goes as smooth as expected. In the end (and about an hour later) we got it all back in order. Another good reminder to always be flexible!!
