Back in late July we noted that the previous 2 months had been almost the busiest of our lives and that we hoped not to have to maintain that pace for the rest of the year. The Lord did allow that pace to continue for another month, until late August. Just in the past week or two things seem to be returning to a more normal, manageable level of busy. Thank you so much for praying us through this busy, challenging summer. We can see how the Lord showed His strength through our weakness. We are very thankful that our teammates, the Berglunds, have returned from their whirlwind summer home assignment. They jumped back in to help carry the ministry load as soon as they returned.
During the first week of August, we welcomed 2 new families to our field. In the weeks since then, we have been helping them to get settled and get started in their national language and culture study. We are so thankful to have them here and they seem to be doing really well. Please continue to pray for their adjustments and for a good start to their studies. Pray for good health for them too.
Later in August, our team hosted representatives from each of the other regions we serve in this country. They came to share with all of our language study families about the ministries and the needs in each of their regions. At the same time, men from our leadership team came to interview each of our families. Coordinating all of those visits kept the team secretaries (Rosie and Jennifer) very busy for quite a while before and during that event.
In addition to his other responsibilities, DJ is now serving on the school board of the Christian school where our children attend. Our language study families with school-aged children usually send them to this school as well. Next week DJ will be in school board meetings all day Thursday and Friday. We’d appreciate prayers that the Lord will direct the board’s discussions and give them wisdom about any decisions they need to make.
Thank you so much for praying for Areli, Galilee, and Tyndale’s education needs. All 3 of them seem to be doing really well so far this school year. The girls are in 6th grade now, and Tyndale is in 3rd. The girls are making great progress in spelling, reading, and writing now. For the first time in their lives, they’ve found methods that work and make sense to them. We are so thankful for all their hard work and the tutoring help they’ve received.
Thank you so much for praying. Please don’t stop.
