Update about DJ’s Upcoming Surgery

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your prayers for us as we’ve navigated through the process of planning for a medical procedure in a country where we have no experience with the medical system (or anything else, for that matter!)  We have seen the Lord’s leading and provision through His people, and we are so thankful.

Here is DJ’s schedule for his medical trip:

July 13th – fly to Perth, Australia.

July 14th – 7:45am Mohs surgery and skin graft in Perth.

July 15th-21st  – out-patient wound care in Perth.

July 22nd – 8pm flight back to Asia Pacific.  Overnight at the port of entry.

July 23rd – 7am flight back to our island.

DJ’s tickets are booked, and one of our supporters gave a gift that covered most of his round trip flight costs.  Thank you so much!  We are amazed.  While we will still file with insurance, our high deductible means that we will be paying for most if not all of the surgery and post-op care ourselves.  Please continue to pray for the Lord’s provision of those funds.

Due to flight costs, my teaching schedule, and the difficulty of leaving our children for that long, I will not be traveling with DJ.  We are thankful that friends of friends have opened their home for him to stay in while he is in Perth.  That’s another huge answer to prayer!  Our main concern now is that he won’t have anyone to check on him and make sure he has what he needs in the first couple days after his surgery (the surgery is an out-patient procedure, and the home he’ll be staying in is mostly empty right now except for one person who works long hours.)  So please pray that his recovery will go very smoothly and he’ll  have everything he needs on hand so he can just rest for the first few days.
