Thanks so much for praying for my (Jennifer’s) trip to our former island to attend meetings last month. I was gone for 2 weeks—2 travel days and 13 straight days of all-day meetings. I joked that I’ve found my limit for number of days of meetings in a row that I can handle, and it is significantly less than 13. That said, the meetings were a really important time for us as a language & culture consulting team spread all across this vast country to come together, compare notes, and improve our program. We try to meet annually, but due to everyone’s busy schedules it had been nearly two years since our last meeting. So we had a lot to catch each other up on.
After we got back from the meetings, our coworker Greg and I prepared for and gave evaluations and kick-offs to the couple who are still here in town studying the national language and culture. Husband and wife are each at different places in their studies, so their evaluations and kick-offs took quite a bit of tailoring and individual preparation. This week or next we will each visit one of their language sessions to see how things are going and answer any further questions they might have. And our whole team will also be starting to work on all the preparations that need to happen over the next month and a half before our first new group of the year arrives.
DJ continues to stay busy overseeing housing and maintenance, and he has also agreed to take on the responsibility of school board chairman for the Christian school our children attend. He’d appreciate prayers as this job involves a bit of a learning curve.
The kids have taken turns getting a pretty nasty stomach virus in the past couple weeks. Tyndale is the last one to fall victim to the bug, and he seems to be starting to get better today. School continues to be a challenge for them, and we continue to see the need for official learning disabilities testing and diagnosis for all three of them. Please pray that the Lord will direct us to the right solution for this need.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support.
