IN WHAT LANGUAGE SHOULD YOU TEACH THE BIBLE!

“Who is God“, asked the teacher? The city church group had just finished teaching about God to the children in a small Quechua village. A young girl stood up and said “God is the husband of Pacha Mama (mother earth)”. The Quechua have a belief that Mother Earth controls harvest, sickness, prosperity and the spirit world. Everything they do revolves around “Pacha Mama”. Imagine the disbelief and despair of the teacher who just spent the last hour teaching about the God of the Bible. Sometimes when we explain the truths of God from the Bible to people, we do not clearly communicate what we think that we are communicating. At times the teacher is the problem. The language can also be a barrier for clearly understanding God’s Word. It could be that the hearer is coming from a different mindset or culture and interprets the truth differently. This could happen in various settings like church-sermons, evangelism-unsaved, in marriage, or father-teen relationships. *Pray that God’s Word is clearly presented.

Thanks for praying Dwayne Hess
