We enjoy getting to know people. People are what we are about. As we travel around the USA we are getting to know more people. We share stories about Bolivia and the friends we know. My friends Jose & Wendy are in training to become missionaries because Susie and I spent time in their lives encouraging and talking about the Bible.
One subject we talk about is "World View". What I believe tells me how to act , think, and respond to people. For example: I, Dwayne Hess, believe that when I am driving a car down the road, the 50 feet ahead of me is my space and NOBODY better touch it.. Wow! That is harsh. I was driving down the road in Bolivia with Jose and another car cut me off. I immediately proceeded to chew the car/driver out in Spanish and tell him what a bad driver he was. After finishing my freind Jose looked over at me and said your world view has not changed yet has it? I felt like a snail. I had to confess my sin to God and to Jose.
For the next three days I thought about why I responded to that driver. What I came up with was that I believe that the 50ft in front of my car is my road and nobody may touch it! That, however, is not a Godly response! Especially when I am trying to reach people with the Gospel. After that event I am choosing to not respond to this belief in my world view and respond in a God honoring way to those events in my life.
Please pray as Susie and I model the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ. Pray that our attitudes show Gospel of Jesus Christ.
