news flash from the Mwinika

August 2, 2010 by Francios Hattingh

Dear Friends and Family,

We are about to start with the Literacy Classes on Monday at 13h30. We really would appreciate your prayers! The one printer in our team that still functions is also giving problems and we have to wait between booklets to let it cool down… Late yesterday as the day’s solar energy was finished and we had to stop trying, the printer only printed two pages at a time before stalling. Please pray that it will be able to print to last books that we’ll need for Monday.

We have worked hard, but enjoyed to process immensely! What a privilege to hold the first booklet in Emwinika and see our friends’ faces lit up as they page through it… The very first book in their own language!

Nadia will be teaching most of the first week since pre-literacy is my “forte”. I feel very unprepared language wise, but trust that He knows best and somehow will speak through my weakness. Pray for all of us as we prepare to teach.

We want to keep the Mwinika’s focus on the reason for the Literacy by reading a bit from the Joseph story that has been translated each week during classes. They love the intrigue and suspense – their version of a soap opera! :). Pray that our Father will reveal himself to the Mwinika through it all.

Thank you for your partnership in prayer. Francois, Nadia, Franco, Heide-Marie and Waldo

Praise His name. It went well. Continue to pray as we till the soil for the Seed.
