The topic is hot

May 14, 2011 by Nadia Hattingh

While it is turning into spring in the Northern Hemisphere, we are preparing for a seemingly colder than usual winter. The temperatures in Mozambique never go below 10-15 degrees C, but for us, who are used to the hot days of the 5 month summer, it is cold when its below 20 degrees (50 F)!

Just before you think we are “sissies”, consider our Mwinika neighbours… On this picture it was a full 28 degrees C (about 82 degrees Fahrenheit) and Salimo is already dressed in his winter woollies! 🙂

Salimo is reading from the Scriptures translated into the eMwinika language during the teaching of a Bible lesson. What an exciting times this is for the Mwinika! They are hearing the Truth in their own language – for the first time! Therefore although the weather is turning colder, the topic is hot! Soon we will reach the New testament and this will surely proof to be a challenge to absorb for our neighbours who are mostly from a main middle-eastern religion.

Pray, please.
